2017 Winter Nutrition Challenge

The 2017 Winter Nutrition Challenge is in the books, and everyone is a winner. Collectively, we lost 160lbs. This is 3.8% of the group’s already-gorgeous combined starting weight. As a group, we did 110 more burpees at the close of the challenge. This is a 7.5% improvement, and it definitely helped us on 17.1. Several people exceeded their goals by more than 100%.
Although we are not giving prizes for individual achievements, I did want to acknowledge our top performers. Brandi was our “biggest loser,” shaving off 14lbs. Three people (Marci, Brian and Stephen) each lost twelve pounds to tie for the second largest number of pounds lost, while Alice joins Stephen and Marci on the podium for biggest change percentage-wise. Brandi won that category, as well, with an 8% change.

Special recognition goes to Ashley, who got 46% more burpees the second time around, far and away the biggest improvement percentage-wise in the workout. And joining Ashley with 11 more burpees were Alice (again) and Brian (again).
All that said, every challenger should be proud. If you set a goal and reached it, thank yourself. If you made improvements at all, thank yourself. If you simply slowed the momentum or learned something or maybe even turned a corner towards making positive and permanent changes, thank yourself.
And without further ado, the winning team is…GREEN, better known as Alice, Garth, Steve S. and Brandi. Team Green won the weight loss challenge aspect of the competition, placed on the podium for the 5:00 burpee AMRAP, and had a disturbing amount of spirit to go along with a wonderfully encouraging, positive attitude.
Congratulations to everyone who participated, and thank you all again for aming this a great experience. Please keep in touch about your ongoing successes and challenges and look for another event in the next few months.
